OVERXPOSED
Medium: Photoshop
Overexposed is a digital composition that represents the mental overstimulation of growing up in an image-saturated world. The intense colours, layered forms, and distorted typography reflect overthinking, and the pressure to constantly “pose” for society. I added the tagline “images we mistake for reality” to highlight how visual media can distort memory and shape what we believe to be true. A visual representation of overstimulation and performance. The title plays on “Overexposed” and “Over X Posed”, a reference to how we, specifically in digital spaces, generate memory thought and self expression to fit constructed roles. This poster explores the conflict between curation and authenticity, using distortion as a visual tool. A reference to how we, especially in digital spaces, curate memory, thought, and self-expression to fit constructed roles.
